I have been Lijiang Yunnan many times, and Lijiang is a very beautiful place and have many special culture to see, there have small bridge and 3 small rivers around the old town.around the river there have plenty cafe bars and many small shops selling Dongba culture things like handmade decorative or artistic objects ,at night the wine bar is very busy and there have another different feeling ,nowadays this place is very popular,I have to be honest is not quiet any more.very crowd especially at night.but there have another thing is there have wonderful Jade Dragon snow mountain.and you will feel amazing about this thing.in one word Lijiang is very beautiful place to stay. The best choice is take your best friend or your lover here.and Lashihai sea is very good place riding the horse.you can see around the whole Lijiang old town.I think if you want to come here, the best time is July and August.

I have been to lijiang.
Guilin is situated along the Li River, which is a great Travel attraction itself. The beauty of the crystal-clear water and the karst peaks towering into the sky has attracted travelers and, particularly artists, to this area for centuries. The pointed peaks with sheer cliffs on all sides that you see in traditional Chinese paintings in museums are based on the reality of the Guilin Mountains. Therefore, it’s not surprising that we have a picture of the Li River on the 20-yuan bank note which awards Guilin a higher reputation nationwide.
As a tourist, one must take a boat trip down the Li River to enjoy the unique and picturesque mountains and to experience the local country life along the river.
The Li River trip is usually ended at a small town called Yangshuo, which has become something of a backpacker’s legend. The relaxing pace of life here, friendly people, good food, scenic beauty, rice fields and clear streams, country roads for cycling, all make it the paradise for those who wish to get a rest from the harsher aspects of life in the big cities. Yangshuo’s best sights include the Moon Hill, Big Banyan Tree, Green Lotus Peak and Yulong River.

I was there this winter. I really liked it, and almost everyone I met had really liked it. The Tiger Leaping Gorge is beautiful. Old town is nice, but a little touristy. Personally I liked Xishuangbanna in southern Yunnan better.
