Well I’m there right now i came to China from, Malaysia from Canada, and I would say China is better than Malaysia not Canada though. Im in the city Guanzhou right now and yes i do have to agree with some of what the first person said it is very dirty but since Beijing is the capital city it shoud be better. (I’ve never been to Beijing), the malls here in China are awesome, and very big i especially like all the electronic stores. They sell a lot of brand name clothing here but most of it is bad quality and they dont give refunds. Also if your a westerner that came to China and you want to do some shopping beware because they do cheap you out if you dont know the languaa\ge so i suggest taking someoen who can speak the language with you.

i used to live in beijing and i love it there!!!!!!! Is a great city and is soooooooooo much fun!! It can be a little dirty if u r use to some of the super clean america cities…and i’m not talking about places like NYC or St. Louis. But the chinese government is doing its best to clean the city up, and from what i heard pollution is getting a lot better!!! Shopping in beijing can be a lot of fun!!! If u want to buy things w/ brand names such as prada or coach, well, my suggestion would be don’t buy them in beijing, because they are expensive there (and the extra cost is from tariff) u r better off buying them in america. Other cool places to visit include the great wall, forbidden city, tiananmen square, tiantan, wangfujing (highly recommended), summer palace, there’s a place called world park in south of beijing that’s pretty cool, there are amusement parks (but they pale in comparison to disney world), bird nest, concerts, exhibitions, museums, there’s a big zoo that a lot of kids love

some common sense to have in beijing would be don’t flash ur money around, don’t carry a lot of cash w/ u, put ur valuables (like ur passport) in a safe in the hotel, might be a good idea to put ur cash in different pockets, learn to bargain (but not in modern looking expensive shopping centers)

for china travel guide, u can get one in barnes&noble or amazon. u can also google it.

last but not least, don’t forget to try the famous Beijing Duck!!!!!!!!

    be safe, have fun!!!!!!!!
